Silvano Macaluso, known professionally as Silva, was born on May 20, 1977, in
Brussels, Belgium. He is a musician, composer, and singer of Sicilian origin. In
1996, he gained recognition by winning the Belgian national television talent
show Pour La Gloire with his piano rendition of "Puisque tu pars" by
Jean-Jacques Goldman. Macaluso later earned a degree in sound engineering from
the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in 2000. His debut album, Laisse aller,
