Slim & Slam
Slim & Slam was an American jazz duo established in the late 1930s. They
achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by novelty
jazz featuring vocalese and scat singing. The ensemble consisted of the vocalist
and guitarist Bulee Gaillard and the bassist and vocalist Leroy Stewart. Their
recording career included the hit song "Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy Floy)".
Their discography included the song "Tutti Frutti" (1938) which served as a
basis for a later song by the musician Little Richard. The ensemble became
inactive in the early 1940s.
