Soledad Bravo, born 13 November 1943 in Logroño, Spain, is a Venezuelan singer
whose career began in Caracas during the late 1960s. Her debut album Soledad
Bravo canta (1968) introduced her powerful voice and a repertoire of Spanish
popular songs, followed by Soledad (1969) which featured Latin American writers
such as Atahualpa Yupanqui and Violeta Parra. In 1973 she released Cantos de la
Nueva Trova Cubana, presenting early works of Pablo Milanés and Silvio
Rodríguez, and later explored Venezuelan folklore with Cantos de Venezuela. The
