Sortilege
The French heavy metal band Sortilège, originally from Paris, formed in 1980 as
a trio called Blood Wave, featuring Stéphane Dumont and Didier Demajean on
guitars and Jean-Philippe Dumont on drums, before adopting its final name the
following year and recruiting Christian Augustin as lead singer and Daniel Lapp
as bassist. The band offered a French alternative to bands from the New Wave of
British Heavy Metal such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Def Leppard. Signed
