English band Space, from Liverpool, formed in 1992. The group initially gained
traction with their eclectic sound blending indie rock, alternative dance, and
trip-hop. Their first single "If Its Real" was released in July 1993.
Keyboardist Franny Griffiths joined the lineup in 1994. In January 1995, Space
signed with Gut Records, releasing their debut single "Money" later that year.
The band achieved significant success with their fourth single "Female of the
Species", which reached number 14 and became the theme song for the TV program
