Splinter
Splinter, an English vocal duo, was formed in the early 1970s in South Shields,
England, by Bill Elliott and Bobby Purvis. The duo gained the attention of
George Harrison, becoming the first act signed to his Dark Horse Records label.
This connection led to the release of their debut single, “Costafine Town”
(1974), which reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart and number 16 in
Australia. Their critically acclaimed debut album, The Place I Love (1974),
