Founded in Saitama in 1979, Stardust Revue (also known as Sutarebi or SDR) is a
Japanese pop group formed by amateur musicians Kaname Nemoto (lead vocals,
guitar), Kiyoshi Kakinuma (bass), Masami Terada (drums) and Toshikatsu Hayashi
(percussion). Initially known as Gypsy, the group won the Yamaha Popular Song
Contest in 1979 with “Ora ga Chinju no Muramatsuri”, renaming the group to
Stardust Revue shortly after, to reflect their myriad musical influences.
Releasing their first self-titled album on May 25, 1981, their lead single
“Shugā wa Otoshigoro” garnered considerable succes...
