Stefanie Anke Hertel, born on July 25, 1979, in Oelsnitz/Vogtl., Germany, is a
German folk singer. She began performing at four years old with her father,
Eberhard Hertel, and had her first television appearance at six on Oberhofer
Bauernmarkt. In 1990, she signed with Hans R. Beierlein after appearing on
Volkstümliche Hitparade. Hertel's breakthrough came in 1992 when she won the
Grand Prix of Folk Music with "Über jedes Bacherl geht a Brückerl" and was
