During the earlier part of his recording career the Mississippi-born
singer-songwriter Steve Forbert was often compared to Bob Dylan. Forbert's
thoughtful, almost poetic lyrics and his strong social conscience made such
comparisons almost inevitable but over the years the strength and quality of his
compositions have made them irrelevant.
Commercially, the artist's career peaked in 1979 with the release of his second
