Swoop, an Australian seven-piece rock, funk, and disco band, was established in
1991 by Joshua Beagley on guitar and keyboards and Roland Kapferer on lead
vocals. The duo met as students at Marryatville High School in Adelaide before
relocating to Sydney. Their initial lineup included an ever-changing roster of
rappers, DJs, musicians, and dancers. Swoop released their first singles
"Positivity's Groove" (May 1992) and "Jelly Funk" (August). Fiona Ta'akimoeaka
