Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda, better known as Thalía, was born on August 26,
1971, in Mexico City. Later nicknamed the “Queen of Latin Pop,” she began
performing as a child after a difficult early life marked by the death of her
father and a period in which she lost her voice. At nine, she joined the
children’s group Pac Man, later renamed Din-Din, which released several albums
in the early 1980s. She moved into musical theater with Vaselina, a children’s
