The Avengers
The Avengers is an American punk rock band formed in 1977 in San Francisco. The
group initially consisted of Penelope Houston on vocals, Greg Ingraham on
guitar, Danny Furious on drums, and Jimmy Wilsey on bass. Their first release
was the EP We Are the One (1977). They opened for the Sex Pistols at their final
show at Winterland, which led to a recording session produced by Steve Jones.
The band released the EP Avengers in 1979 and the compilation album Avengers in
