The Casuals are a British pop group formed in 1961 in Lincoln, England. They are
best known for their No. 2 hit "Jesamine" in 1968, a landmark example of British
orchestral pop of the period, blending lush arrangements, vocal harmonies and
romantic sensibility. The band was founded by John Roy "Johnny" Tebb (vocals,
keyboards) and Howard Newcombe (guitar), later joined by various musicians,
including Alan "Plug" Taylor (bass) and Mick Bray (drums), replaced by Bob
