The Coup is an American political hip-hop band from Oakland, California, formed
in 1991. The group's debut release was The EP (1991), followed by their first
full-length album, Kill My Landlord (1993). In 1994, they released their second
album, Genocide & Juice. After a four-year hiatus for community activism, the
