The Drill
Born on October 26, 1971, in Haifa, Israel, Matt Schwartz is a record producer,
songwriter, and DJ operating under the stage name The Drill. After moving to
London in the early 1990s and studying at Kingston University, the producer
worked at Hit-House in Hammersmith, collaborating with Farley “Jackmaster” Funk.
From 1996 to 1998, the songwriter worked at BeatFarm Studios, where the artist
co-wrote the track “Dissolved Girl” (1998) for Massive Attack. The producer
launched Destined Records in 2000, co-founded Blackgold Recordings, and
