The Düsseldorf Düsterboys, a German folk band, was founded in 2012 by musicians
Peter Rubel and Pedro Goncalves Crescenti, both originally from Mainz. The group
was based in Essen and initially included loose members Edis Ludwig and Fabian
Neubauer. The band's sound drew from 1960s and 1970s folk music, incorporating
elements of psychedelic, anti-folk, chamber music, tropicalismo, and bossa nova.
Their early releases included the song "Teneriffa" on an online music service
