The Mother Hips, an American rock band, formed in 1990 when key members Tim
Bluhm, Greg Loiacono, Isaac Parsons, and Mike Wofchuk met at California State
University-Chico. The group played at local parties and bars before releasing
their first album Back to the Grotto (1992), after which they signed with Rick
Rubin’s American Recordings. They then released albums like Part‑Timer Goes Full
(1995), Shootout (1996), and Later Days (1998), after which they went on hiatus
in 2003. The band reunited in 2004 and released Kiss the Crystal Flake (2007),
Pacific Dust (2009), Behind Beyond ...
