The Mountain Goats
Hailing from Claremont, California, and consisting of John Darnielle (vocals,
guitar, keyboards), Peter Hughes (bass, backing vocals), Jon Wurster (drums),
and Matt Douglas (multi-instrumentalist), the American indie rock band The
Mountain Goats began their career in 1991. After a few limited-edition releases,
the 1994 studio album Zopilote Machine officially marked the start of the band’s
discography. This was regularly expanded with the albums Sweden (1995), Nothing
for Juice (1996), Full Force Galesburg (1997), and The Coroner’s Gambit (2000).
