the New Power Generation
The New Power Generation (also known as NPG) is a funk, rock and R&B group
formed in 1990 by singer Prince to accompany him, and comprising singers and
musicians. Initially formed for the Diamonds and Pearls tour, the group became a
key entity in Prince's musical universe. Their first album with Prince, Diamonds
and Pearls (1991), includes hits such as "Cream" and "Gett Off". Under Prince's
direction, NPG distinguished itself with a sound that fused funk, rock and soul,
