British alternative post-punk stalwarts The Nightingales were formed in
Birmingham in 1979 by former members of punk band The Prefects. Led by singer
and lyricist Robert Lloyd, the band forged a cult reputation in the 1980s, not
least thanks to the support of renowned radio host John Peel in his BBC
Sessions. After a hiatus between 1986 and 2004, they returned with renewed
