The Roadrunners
The Roadrunners were an English rhythm and blues band formed in 1962 in
Liverpool. The original ensemble consisted of Mike Hart, Pete Mackey, Dave
Boyce, John Peacock, and Dave Percy. Specializing in Chicago blues, the group
became a fixture at the Hope Hall and the Cavern Club. The band achieved
significant local notoriety, with George Harrison once describing the Rolling
Stones as being nearly as good as the Roadrunners. On 3 August 1963, the
