The Sutherland Brothers
The Sutherland Brothers, comprising Gavin and Iain Sutherland, were a Scottish
folk and soft rock duo hailing from Aberdeenshire. Born on October 6, 1951, in
Peterhead, and November 17, 1948, in Ellon, respectively, the brothers initially
gained traction in 1968 as A New Generation with the single "Smokie Blues Away"
before transitioning to the Sutherland Brothers Band. Their first album was
released in 1972 under Island Records, featuring early hits like "The Pie". In
1973, they joined forces with rock band Quiver, forming Sutherland Brothers &
Quiver and achieving their breakth...
