The Three Tenors
The Three Tenors were an operatic singing trio consisting of Italian Luciano
Pavarotti and Spaniards Plácido Domingo and José Carreras, active between 1990
and 2003. The trio began their collaboration with a performance at the Baths of
Caracalla in Rome on 7 July 1990, the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup final. The
recording of this debut concert, Carreras Domingo Pavarotti in Concert, became
the best-selling classical album of all time. They performed at three further
World Cup finals — 1994 in Los Angeles, 1998 in Paris, and 2002 in Yokohama —
