Theo Travis
Born in Birmingham, England on July 7, 1964, Theo Travis is a jazz saxophonist,
flautist, and composer best known for being a member of Soft Machine and Gong as
well as a wealth of other musical collaborations with artists such as Robert
Fripp (King Crimson), David Gilmour, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree/No Man), John
Foxx, and others. After earning his musical degree from the University of
Manchester, Theo Travis pursued a career in music. In 1993, he released 2AM, his
debut as a bandleader, and appeared on Jade Warrior’s Distant Echoes album.
