Thomas Borchert (born July 20, 1966, in Essen) is a German singer, actor, and
songwriter. Borchert began piano lessons at age eight and earned early
recognition with the rock band Cakewalk, winning the NDR Hörfest prize in 1988.
After graduating from the Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama, Borchert
debuted as Rum Tum Tugger in Cats (1990). His stage career included roles as Dr.
Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, Luigi Lucheni in Elisabeth, and Jean
