Thomas Young is an American lyric tenor from the United States. A Grammy and
Clio award winner, Young established a career spanning opera, jazz, and musical
theater. He made his New York City Opera debut in 1985 in the world premiere of
the Anthony Davis opera X, The Life and Times of Malcolm X. Young’s operatic
repertoire included the roles of Aron in Moses und Aron and Desportes in Die
Soldaten. He collaborated with conductors including Marin Alsop and Leonard
