トワ・エ・モワ, a Japanese pop and folk duo composed of Emiko Yamamuro (later known as Emiko Shiratori) and Sumio Akutagawa, began their career in 1968. Their debut single "Aru hi totsuzen" peaked at fourth place on the Oricon chart, while their first album, 或る日突然〜トワ・エ・モワの世界, released in October 1969, is considered a classic of Japanese folk music and marked one of the earliest mixed-gender groups in Japan.
