Thomas "Tom" Talbert, born on August 4, 1924 in Crystal Bay Township, Minnesota,
was a jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. He began his musical journey with
rudimentary piano lessons from his grandmother and started composing early on.
Talbert initially worked as an arranger for a military band at Fort Ord,
California. Post-military, he arranged music for Johnny Richards. He moved to
New York City in the early 1950s, arranging for artists like Claude Thornhill
