Tompall Glaser, born September 3, 1933, in Spalding, Nebraska, was the eldest of
the Glaser brothers who formed the American country group Tompall & the Glaser
Brothers. The trio began performing at local fairs as preteens, and their first
significant break came in 1957 when they appeared on Arthur Godfrey's Talent
Show, attracting attention from established country stars such as Marty Robbins.
