Tonicha
Antónia de Jesus Montes Tonicha, known professionally as Tonicha, is a
Portuguese pop-folk singer born on March 8, 1946, in Beja, Portugal. She began
her career with early singles and EPs released through RCA/Telectra between 1964
and 1970. Her breakthrough came when she represented Portugal in the Eurovision
Song Contest 1971 with the song “Menina do alto da serra”, finishing ninth. She
also participated in the OTI Festival 1972, where she achieved a sixth-place
