Tony Brent
Reginald Hogan Bretagne, known professionally as Tony Brent, and born on
13 August 1926 in Bombay, India, was a British traditional pop singer. After
relocating to the United Kingdom in 1947, he won a talent contest at the Regal
Theatre in Kingston with "Some Enchanted Evening", leading to work with Ambrose
and Cyril Stapleton’s BBC Showband and a signing with Columbia Records. His
chart breakthrough came with "Walkin’ to Missouri" (1952), which peaked at
