Liliana Esther Maturano, known as Tormenta, was born on December 15, 1952, in
Buenos Aires, Argentina, and became a singer, songwriter, television presenter
and actress. She began composing at twelve and was discovered by Victor Heredia
in 1969, signing with RCA Victor at sixteen. Her debut single "Cebando Mate"
sold about 450 000 copies and made her one of the first Argentine female
rock‑influenced chart‑topper. The 1971 hit "Adiós, chico de mi barrio" launched
