Tumsa, a Latvian rock band formed in 1991, originated from Liepaja. The group
was founded by bassist Jānis Daugalis and initially gained recognition through
local concerts before expanding their reach across Latvia. Their breakthrough
came in 1998 when they won the Liepājas dzintars contest and released their
debut album Putni. Following this, Tumsa maintained a consistent release
schedule, producing albums approximately every two years until 2008 including
Katram savu Atlantīdu (2000), Nesaprasto cilvēku zemē (2001), and Spēlējot
