Tyrone Evans
Tyrone Evans was a Jamaican reggae singer. He began his career as one of the
founding members of The Paragons, a rocksteady group that achieved worldwide
success with "The Tide Is High". In the late 1960s, he recorded singles such as
"I Don't Care" and collaborated with Bob Andy and Coxsone Dodd. He continued to
work with various producers, including Leslie Kong and Winston Riley. In the
1980s, Evans moved to New York, where he recorded with Lloyd Barnes on his
Wackies label, releasing Tyrone Evans Sings Bullwachies Style. Evans passed away
from cancer in New York in 2000.
