Uptown Horns
The Uptown Horns is an American horn section formed in 1980 in New York City
from weekly jams at the Tramps club. In 1981, the group collaborated with Iggy
Pop on the album Party (1981). Their first single, "Sex with My Ex" (1984), was
released under the name The Uptown Horn and produced by Tony Taverner for EMI
Records. They also backed Solomon Burke on Soul Live! (1984) as part of the
backing band The Realtones. The band released the album A Shot in the Dark
(1987) as The Uptown Horn Band, followed by The Uptown Horns Revue (1993). The
