Vanessa Bell Armstrong, born Vanessa Bell on October 2, 1953, in Detroit,
Michigan, is an American gospel and soul singer. She began her musical journey
directing the choir at her father's church, Greater Mount Everett Church of God
in Christ. Armstrong released her debut album Peace Be Still in 1983, which
included her signature song "Peace Be Still". Her second album, Chosen, reached
