Vanessa Daou
Vanessa Daou, born Vanessa Dale on October 4, 1967 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin
Islands, is an American singer, songwriter, poet, visual artist, and dancer. She
began her career while studying at Barnard College/Columbia University,
recording demos that caught the attention of NuGroove Records DJs, leading to
her guest vocals on "It Could Not Happen" in 1990. Daou later signed with
Columbia Records and, in 1992, as part of The Daou quintet, released Head Music.
The album featured the single "Surrender Yourself", which was remixed by Danny
Tenaglia and reached Number 1 on Billboard'...
