Vernon Gosdin, born on 5 August 1934 in Woodland, Alabama, was an American
country music singer. He started his career singing gospel and performing with
his brothers on Birmingham radio station WVOK. In the early 1960s, he moved to
California and joined the West Coast country music movement, forming the Gosdin
Brothers with his brother Rex Gosdin. They achieved chart success with songs
like "Hangin' On" and "Till the End". After a brief retirement in the 1970s, he
