Vincent Royer
Vincent Royer, born on January 22, 1961 in Strasbourg, France, is a violist and
composer. He started his musical education studying piano before switching to
viola at age 13. Royer earned his diploma from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz
Köln in 1989 and founded the ALEA Ensemble for collective composition and
improvisation. In 1995, he received a scholarship from the French Ministry of
Culture to reside at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada. Royer's notable
