We Versus the Shark was an American math rock band from Athens, Georgia. Formed in March 2003 by multi-instrumentalists Luke Douglas Fields, Jeffrey Daniel Tobias, Scott Philip Smith, and Samantha Erin Paulsen, the group was known for dynamic live performances where each member switched instruments and contributed vocals. The band also released a split EP with Cinemechanica and Maserati in 2004. Their debut full-length album, Ruin Everything!, was released on Hello Sir in January 2005.
