Whiplash
Whiplash, an American thrash metal band formed in 1984 in Passaic, New Jersey,
was led by guitarist and vocalist Tony Portaro. The group emerged from the
burgeoning East Coast metal scene, with Tony Portaro and drummer Tony Scaglione
initially shaping the band’s aggressive sound. Their breakthrough came with the
debut album Power and Pain (1986), released on Roadrunner Records, which
