Ximena Sariñana is a Mexican singer and actress who was born in Guadalajara in
1985 into a family who had strong links to film and TV production. It is
therefore not surprising she began her performing career as an actress, with
Sariñana first rising to prominence as an 11-year-old child actor playing the
villain 'Mariela' in the Mexican telenovela production of 'Luz Clarita'. More TV
and film work followed, and by the time Sariñana was ready to begin her singing
career she was already a very familiar face to Mexican television audiences.
