Hatsuko Yamasaki, born on May 18, 1957 in Japan and known professionally as Hako
Yamasaki, is a Japanese singer-songwriter. While attending high school, she won
the Grand Prix at the "Join Us Folk Competition" in 1974, which led to her being
scouted by music producer Tomoi Hoshino and recruited into his agency, Imadoki.
Yamasaki made her debut in 1975 with the album Tobimasu. Her early career saw
moderate success, with albums selling over 50,000 copies. Yamasaki transferred
to Universal Music Japan in 1985, and after releasing a live album, she went on
