Giannis Spanos, also known as Yannis Spanos, born on July 26, 1934, in Kiáto,
Corinth, was a Greek composer. After traveling through Europe and discovering
the "rive gauche" scene in Paris, he began his career as a pianist-accompanist
in cabarets. His early works included settings of French poetry by figures such
as Charles Cros and Robert Desnos. In the 1970s, Spanos returned to Greece and
became part of the "new wave" movement in Greek music, composing numerous
albums, including "Μια Αγάπη Για Το Καλοκαίρι / Μικρό Ταξίδι Στο Γιαλό" (1964)
