Born Yuridia Francisca Gaxiola Flores on October 4, 1986 in Hermosillo, Mexico,
singer-songwriter Yuridia grew up surrounded by music, with her father strongly
encouraging her to sing, to the point of entering her in the casting for the
fourth season of the Sunday program La Academia. Along with 17 other candidates,
she was chosen to take part in the show, where she soon made a name for herself.
During 2005, she showed off her vocal talent with covers of songs by artists
