Yvonne Fair, born Flora Yvonne Coleman on October 21, 1942, in Richmond,
Virginia, is an American singer. She started her career as a member of The
Chantels before joining James Brown's revue in 1961 and releasing several
singles with him. In the early 1970s, Fair signed with Motown Records and
released her debut single "Stay a Little Longer" under the Soul label. Her most
notable work was the album The Bitch Is Black (1975), which included the hit
single "Funky Music Sho' 'Nuff Turns Me On", reaching number 32 on the US R&B
