Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi, born on September 22, 1952, in Highfield, Southern
Rhodesia (modern-day Harare, Zimbabwe), was a singer, songwriter,
philanthropist, and human rights activist. He began his music career in 1977
when he joined the band Wagon Wheels, which also featured Thomas Mapfumo and
James Chimombe. The group's single “Dzandimomotera” went gold, leading to his
first successful album, Ndipeiwo Zano (1978). Throughout his career, he released
